Who we are
The Agricultural Consortium of Xirolivado consists of a group of people who, in the early 1980s, joined together to purchase and develop land on Mount Vermio for the benefit of their community · specifically in the area of Xirolivado, in the municipality of Koumaria, Imathia.
The original group consisted of 100 members, and the land purchased comprised approximately 5,000 stremmas (500 hectares) of forest and 110 stremmas of residential land.
The formation of an Agricultural Consortium later became mandatory under applicable legislation.
The name: «Elata»
Named after the towering fir trees that dominate the Vermio forest · a symbol of strength and endurance.

The management of the co-owned forest and residential land, the administration of finances and members, and the promotion of the area at both cultural and tourism levels.
The area is suitable for investments in wind and solar parks, nickel, cobalt and limestone quarries. The natural beauty also offers prospects for tourism facilities, sports centres and athletic training grounds.
About Xirolivado
Xirolivado is a settlement of Koumaria, Imathia, built at an altitude of 1,220 metres on a plateau of Mount Vermio.
Just 19 km from Veria and 92 km from Thessaloniki.
It is one of the highest-altitude settlements in Greece.
Next to the settlement, mainly during summer months, a small lake forms, which locals call Bara.
